·I’m holding this one for a friend while he decides whether to buy it or not. I should know in ten days or so. In the meantime, I am oh so tempted to buy it myself. This is a fairly scarce 16-size, 21-jewel, Hamilton grade 994. Hamilton made this watch in pendant set and lever set, and they only made about 1,100 of them in total. Perfect double-sunk vitreous enamel dial, gold train wheels, gold jewel settings and balance screws, lever set, perfect Hamilton marked swing ring case. Circa 1914. It is closely related to the Hamilton grade 952 (19-jewels), and the grade 950 (23-jewels). This is the only Hamilton I have ever seen with this unusual damask finish. Can you blame me for wearing it today?
