It’s literally only a quarter mile or so to walk and get a coffee from the office but the walk is becoming dangerous and makes me feel as if I’m on my way to climb a mountain or some other winter sport activity

Reminds me of Pittsburgh...

Visiting an old friend in Miami Beach. Just finished a six mile walk on the beach. Quick stop at a tiki bar for adult beverages. Off to the beach for a swim. Beats the heck out of New Jersey this time of the year.

Such an oddball I had to buy it. I blame @Bill Sohne

It’s a NH movement in a replica vintage Rolex case and a Fantasy dial. It has an odd cohesiveness to it that spoke to Bill... whom I out bid for it, as I agreed with him lol.

Please note that it is only water-resistant between 200 and 660 feet. So no diving lol.

After wearing the Diet Pepsi in Vegas all week, it’s back to work and the Speedy for Friday.

The quintessential Friday Flieger 😀

Coincidentally, today I formally enrol in helicopter pilot training, with the objective of obtaining a Private Pilot License in the next 18-24 months. This shot is from my training intro flight a couple of weeks ago, taxiing back to the hangar at KBUR.

Jealous. I started with fixed wing, and while I have a few hours in a friend’s R44, I don’t see spending the cash on the rotorcraft endorsement any time soon. Have fun! Don’t skimp on your headset.

Any recommendation(s) from you or other aviators on the Forum for a headset? Right now I'm inclined to not go for noise-cancelling, as I enjoy hearing the muffled rotor blade chops and engine sounds through the headset.

EDIT: Maybe the best place to respond to my headset inquiry would be "The Avaitors Thread" so we don't mess up this popular thread.
