Square Seiko day. New to me, Seiko's version of the Monaco..

When I purchased I thought that the dial was black but when you place in sunlight it is a dark green. Not the most flattering light for the watch but it is the only way to see the colour.

Comparing my new arrival Rallytimer with blue Pogue. Despite the resemblance of the recessed crowns, these are very different movements, supposedly developed independently. Suwa 6139's day/date are both set by pushing the crown in (2 levels), while with the Daini 7017 only the day is set by pushing. Date is set with crown out one position, then one more out for time.
