An interesting strap on the Speedy today. It is a very soft leather, not sure what to make of it...

This is a testament to what a strap monster the Speedy is. The difficult task is looking for a strap it doesn't look good on.

Haven’t worn this one in quite a while…..a Girard-Perregaux “Sea Hawk” dialed as a “Movado museum watch” for California jeweler Gensler Lee.

“Movado museum watch” fun facts: what has commonly come to be known as the “Movado museum watch” - i.e., plain black dial with a single gold disc marker at 12:00 representing the sun at high noon - was designed by American industrial designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947; Horwitt created four prototypes using Vacheron & Constantin-LeCoultre watches as their base; the cases, disc marker and hands of the prototypes were “silver” colored, rather than the more commonly seen “gold”; Horwitt shopped his design around to numerous watch manufacturers hoping for a licensing agreement, but found no takers; in 1948, Movado began producing watches based on Horwitt’s design, but without licensing the design; Horwitt sued Movado; Movado settled the suit in 1975 for $29,000, approximately $125,000 in today’s money; three of the four prototypes created by Horwitt are in museums, the fourth is held by the family.
