Steak and roasted garlic with the quirky (and quite wonderful) Holthinrichs Raw Ornament. It wears so well on the wrist!

Back from four days, trailering in the Rockies. As stated in an earlier post showing this newly acquired artifact, I would actually wear it once we were back. So here it is, first day in the pocket. This watch has an international flavour to it. American made, 7-jewel, 16-size Elgin movement, Canadian made A W C Co. demi-hunter case with perfect blue vitreous enamel on the front cover, presented to the secretary of an Orangeman’s Lodge in Newtownards, county Cork, Ireland, in 1920. According to the 2011 census, Newtownards had 22,000 people. How big was it in 1920? Worn on my @DaveK miracle braid leather lanyard.

I have one of that kind from my great-great-great father... older, though, probably circa 1830/50. Out of order, but never tried to make it work...

I’m the proud, latest steward of a piece with @Tony C. in the record of provenance, and I literally can’t express how gorgeous it is!
