I’m back from 4 days, camping in the Rockies. I wore my manual wind Hamilton khaki on the junket. Spent the 4 days being uncertain as to the date. Back now, and I decided I needed a watch with a calendar, for a change. I know, I know! Many say the date window spoils the symmetry. I’m not into feng shui! There are some things I expect from a watch. The time, and the date. Symmetry not important to me. So I broke out my Gruen day/date from (I guess) circa early to mid 1960s. This one is a bit of an oddity. A manual wind day date watch. I don’t see a lot of them. Every time I decide to wear it again, I have to re-train myself as to how to set the day and the date. No quick change on this one.
