A really moving experience for those who can visit in person. I've been there twice myself. I also dropped my younger son off at college last weekend and returned with my wife to an empty nest. Is your son at Gettysburg College?
Yes, my son is a Gettysburg. I too am returning home to my wife and an empty nest tonight (well, returning to two dogs and three cats left behind by the three sons who have evacuated)…next chapter in life…long time coming yet, somehow, it seems to have come too quickly. Is your son at Gettysburg also?

I’m a total fan of the bracelet that came with the Glashütte Original but had to try it on a couple of nato’s.

It must be much cool to attend that Gettysburg college. Even if one is not a history buff Gettysburg is just an amazing place to visit. I think I’ve visited 4 or 5 times each time spending at least three days and that feeling of awe never wears off.

oh yes wearing my Vostok today as my wife informed me “we” which in her language means “me” are painting the bathroom today. She got two quarts of paint, I told her that is not enough. She said she followed the science like Dr. Fauci and took proper measurements how dare I doubt her. Of course it wasn’t enough.

No, although I know Gettysburg well - I attended a small college in Virginia and had a good friend at Gettysburg. My son is at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks - a two-day drive from our home in Michigan. He's going to need plenty of layers in the winter!

Turned cool here in the Northeast. A nice break from 95F with 98% humidity. I broke out a long sleeve yellow Harley shirt and one of my 2 remaining gold toned watches just seemed right for it. Sometimes you don't need more than 32mm, or to be cool in SS or wear 4K worth of hyrology on your wrist. You can just enjoy the slim presence of the little vintage America watch, so light.....like you are wearing almost nothing at all. And this is truly "vintage on a budget", as I have less than $1.40 U.S. in the combination of watch and new strap from a local wholesale discount chain that sells merchandise it bought from bankrupt and damaged companies.

Probably we should start a new thread like “truly vintage on a budget” with that ELGIN? What should be a price limit / rhres

I love that idea and would be proud to do just that...but with @Omega1's permission, as I stole the phrase from him. What do you suggest for a limit? 10 $'s, pounds or Euros, depending on your local?? Maybe something a bit more lenient?

I do like me a pop of red... and the trapezoidal date typography is a particularly nice detail, methinks.

This one for today, and for the next five days. Going camping again. I have dozens of beaters, and this isn’t one of them. No sense running the risk of marring a nicer one. I’ve been wearing it on a strap, but for convenience sake, it is now on a steel expansion bracelet.

One of my oldest and dearest watches to (re) watch a movie that involves a watch.
