I had planned to change from a watch with no calendar, today, into one with a calendar. But in scanning my collection, I decided to wear my 1922 Longines. Canadian made, white gold filled case, 15-jewel, calibre 12.92 movement, vitreous enamel dial, probably originally with radium numerals. Original hands, re-lumed . What you see is the end result of a lengthy restoration. This case came to me with a basket case 12.92 calibre movement in it. It sat for probably close to 50 years, in a drawer of scrap watches. Then, one day, another Longines came my way with a 12.92 calibre movement, in much better shape, but with a trashed case and vitreous enamel dial. The owner and I made a deal, and I ended up with it. So this is the product of merging the best parts of the two watches.
A rare appearance for a watch I often forget I own.
It’s got more numerals on the dial than all my other watches put together.
And a railtrack!
I have always admired the Oris styling but have never managed to get one into my collection, yours is rather attractive, how many millimetres is the dial?
