Killing an hour.

In the early 1970s there was said to be just one pub in all of England that brewed its own beer. That was Mrs Pardoe's Old Swan in the Black Country (Netherton nr Dudley). Her home-brew was also available at the New Swan which she also owned and that was where one of the motor clubs I was in meet every two weeks. Having been well tutored by my father to appreciate good beer I always drank the home-brew but my friends were distrustful and stuck to the boring (and nitrogen-injection fizzy) M&B.

Good to see things have improved!

Wearing this for dinner with my youngest son - he’s 8 and we are having a father-son weekend. He decided he’d like to start it by trying his first “proper” steak.. So we are sharing a properly aged USDA bone in rib-eye.. HAGWA!!

Sorry to post so soon after my last pic, but something very special just arrived from Germany 😀

The flipside photo is posted at full-res because there are some uncommon details shown that some may find interesting...

...with some sadness these special bits are headed off to the vault (and are probably more valuable than a lot of the stuff in the vault).

Wow! That's definitely on the extraordinary end of the scale.

Hey thanks. I worked with @mr.kaplan on this 5513. Highly recommended.
And shortly after this photo, that tach needle in the background was exploring “the extraordinary end of its scale” too👍

I had to drop off my 300 GMT for a trip to the spa, and walked out with a Hamilton Field Mechanical 38mm. 😗

If I were a betting man, I’d wager that it’ll get more wrist time than your GMT, even after it’s back from the Spa. We watch collectors can be fickle like that - we see a new (watch) face and our heads are turned ….. 😉

By the time it gets back from the spa (10 weeks) the new will have worn off. Besides, my 300 GMT was my very first automatic watch, first Omega, and my entry into really turning into a watch enthusiast. It's never out of rotation. Until yesterday, that is, when it showed all the signs of having the hour wheel issue that the 1128 movements have. This will be it's 2nd hour wheel replacement in 22 years. I went ahead and sent to the mothership for a full service.

I don’t know. Seems a little suspicious to me! Congrats!
