Late post. Still driving around the Bay area. Warm and sunny inland, but on the Pacific coast, cloudy and a cool 58 deg F. This is Half Moon Bay, a bit south of SF.

And visiting an old friend who took us to dinner on his electric boat via the Foster City canals. Good times...YaY!

I have always liked the way these two-tone dials reverse their dark and light tones depending upon the angle of the light striking them.

Off with the Speedmaster reduced, on with this survivor. This one might have ended up as a donor watch when I acquired it. Ratched gold filled case and dial, movement needing work. I had a better dial, a decent stainless steel case and an Omega stainless steel sport bracelet in my stash. After fabricating a “dog-leg” case clamp, fitting new mainspring, cleaning it, fitting a generic crystal and crown, this is the result. Considering the fate suffered by many 70-year-old watches, this calibre 352 “bumper” is a remarkable performer! Oh! And yes, there is a gasket in it at present!
