The calm

before the storm..

Update, and the storm...

Those are fantastic lightning shots @Barking mad ! Are you using a lightning trigger for your camera, or just persistent and a little bit lucky?

Seven days, seven divers.

Day #7

Of course I'd save the Special One for last. This is the first dive watch that I paid more than $200 for. It's amazing how many elements of Omega's original 1957 diver are still carried by this watch: the narrow bezel, Arabic numerals on the quadrants, and at least one broad arrow hand. I remember pondering the decision about whether to go with the orange numerals or white, and decided on orange because it was more un-Submariner. And the colour orange has always had a special role in the Planet Ocean line of watches.

I should also mention that this watch gets more spontaneous compliments from the non-WIS public than any watch I own. It's just got that special something...

I was going to wear my cat leg Connie but the rains are upon us I’ll need to change when I go out to forage for cat food. Nice for now though, very accurate which is a plus.

Of course they are all nice but looking at them as you have them lined up the Tudor Pelagos really stands out. Tough to pick a winner among winners though. Probably the same dilemma women I have dated in the past faced.

Yes, the Pelagos is quite a watch -- certainly my most capable diver. My favourite dive knife is made of titanium also, so it matches up quite nicely with the Pelagos in terms of techniness.

p.s.
But the annoying pile of words at the bottom of the dial keep this watch from attaining perfection, in my opinion. That, and the fact that it is about 1.5mm thicker than it needs to be.

Ha ha annoying piling of wording. I don’t want to drag WRUW off topic but I just put on my only non vintage diver due to heavy rain today. You are obviously an experienced diver dude I hardly splash around in a pool, are these seiko 007 respected as a real dive watch?

Day 4 with the Glashütte Original SeaQ 39,5mm in green. Had saved up for this for some time and it is my absolute favourite watch by far. I would take this over a Submariner or any steel sports watch any day of the week.

Yes, without doubt that is a very capable dive watch. I'd take it to 40m depth without any concern at all.

I like watches with alternate numerals - here's my '46 Omega Cal. 30.10 bumper - saves having to balance the XI against I on the dial.
