Well very big change of watches and activities. I needed a couple days off as I was getting overloaded and burnt out. I asked my wife if she had any days off. Today is “Juneteenth” in the US which is soon to be a federal holiday but many companies, like my wife’s, already give employees the day off. So she told me to put in for a long weekend and we could “do something”. Ha ha I was thinking a movie or cook out but instead I am preparing the deck for staining. So off with the constellation and here I’m rocking the fine vostok. A little info on Juneteenth for those not in the US
Juneteenth is a holiday in the United States. The holiday commemorates the end of slavery, and is regularly observed with celebrations of African-American culture. Originating in Galveston, Texas, it has been celebrated annually on June 19 in various parts of the United States since 1866.

I suspect I should have posted this yesterday, given the number of similar-dialed faces in the crowd. Wishing you all a splendid weekend!

Grandad's Lord Elgin + Speidel Twist-O-Flex 😀

(the apparent waviness of the chapter ring is an optical artifact caused by the thick, curved acrylic crystal -- no re-dial here!)

I almost posted this to the blue dial subforum, but I figured sharing it here was more fun. I love the 70s chunkiness, the faceted crystal, the architectural hour markers, and the snowflake second hand counterweight. AND it's got a star!

Ironic that you should be conscripted into service staining a deck on such a day don't you think?

You can break or lose them (CITIZEN and SEIKO) and not feel guilty about it because the entire package costs less than a Rolex bracelet.
