This is a bit different.

remington-rand-model-17kmc-typewriter-2844

Remington Rand was a manufacturer of typewriters and business machines. During World War II they produced the largest quantity of Model 1911A1 pistols of all the wartime 1911A1 contractors, including Colt itself. They'd not ventured into firearms manufacture before, but their pistols were highly esteemed for workmanship and serviceability.

They even sold a line of watches at one time. Has anyone ever seen a Remington Rand watch?

I'm guessing this is a A. Schild automatic movement. Do any experts recognize it?

Even with an unknown service history the Remington Rand is keeping really good time for the past couple of days. I'll put it up now until I get around to sending it for service.

Gorgeous watch!! I need to look into it.

Have also 2 Remington typewriters, and one of our Guest rooms of our B&B is called Remington too

Preparing for another camping trip. So off comes the Accutron Spaceview which I have worn for almost one week, and on goes a “utility” watch. I bought this new from a jeweller who was closing out some slow movers, about 20 years ago. Paid $85.00 (Cdn.) for it. Hamilton Kahki, manual winder. Too small for my big wrist, but it will do for a few days. If should withstand the gaff (if any).
