Found out why “crown guards” make sense when I caught the protruding crown on my Heuer 1550SG doing yard work and it pulled out. Found a correct NOS crown/stem from Germany. Just got it all back together.

Made for flying aircraft, not lawn mowers! The crown protrudes by design, and crown guards would significantly inhibit the utility of the watch for its intended purpose whilst wearing flight gloves, hence not part of the mil-spec. Fortunately parts are not difficult to find for these and glad you've got yours sorted!👍

New eBay acquisition, arrived today, looks even better in real life. Can’t tell if it has been relumed, I think it has, but hey, £700 for a funky 1970s Valjoux panda 37mm chrono isn’t too shabby...

Anyway, HAGWA!!
