W10 that was issued when I was a little lad , now enjoying its retirement & pampered civvy life .
Made for flying aircraft, not lawn mowers! The crown protrudes by design, and crown guards would significantly inhibit the utility of the watch for its intended purpose whilst wearing flight gloves, hence not part of the mil-spec. Fortunately parts are not difficult to find for these and glad you've got yours sorted!
Work finished, dog walked and cocktail in hand with probably the hardest watch to photograph in my collection..
