1861 for timing lawn mowing/trimming/blowing chore duties today. Had the Molly Hatchet tune “Beatin’ the Odds” running through my head...which was amended to “Beatin’ the Rain” since I was in a big sweat to actually beat the rain...which I did [barely].
Ok at the watch maker dropping off a stash getting a new battery for an armitron my wife sold on eBay. My wife sells more watches than I do, granted they are all crap but I don’t even know where she gets them
1981 6309-7040 Turtle gets the nod for the job of starting the 1979 100 HP Evinrude. Started right up. Quick launch and run, and into its protective lift. The Evinrude is the youngster next to the 1974 15 HP Chrysler Marine! It runs great too but I'll start it another day. I learned how to drive this boat before I learned how to drive a car. Kind of attached to it, I guess. Ready for season 43!
Bunch a' fruits around here! Tough yard work requires the tough old Glycine beater, one of the vintage watches I've had the longest. Was worth the five bucks I gave for it in a pawn shop sometime in the early 1980s. It's been the huntin', fishin', hikin', chorin' watch ever since. It's long proven itself to be bullet proof and one of the consistently very accurate vintage watches I have. Baby grapes Apricots coming along. First year the little replacement peach has fruited. We lost our grand, heavy bearing Sentinel variety peach tree two years ago to bores. We still mourn its loss.
