I bought this watch as a non-running watch, for parts or repair. After six long months it came back to life. I got it today in the mail. I share some quick photos and the possible combinations! Nice weekend.

I love it on the red strap!

Edit: noticed it said “live” instead of “love.” Cell phones.

Gagarin celebration makes me think of his colleague... My favorite one... The "master-cosmonaut" Leonov... Still hesitate for this weekend! (By the way, happy weekend to you, all OF! and keep on feeding this incredible WRUW thread...)

Many of you weren’t around, 55 years ago today. Of those who were around 55 years ago today, were you wearing a watch? Many of you likely weren’t wearing a watch. If you were wearing a watch 55 years ago today, do you remember the watch you were wearing, and do you still have it? (I see a lot of blank looks!) That’s all okay.

On my wrist today is the watch I was wearing 55 years ago today! Different bracelet, same watch. My 57 year old Accutron 214 of which I am the only owner. How do I remember that I was wearing this watch exactly 55 years ago today, you might ask. That’s easy. Today is our 55th anniversary! Still looks and runs like day one. It has been on my wrist for many important occasions. The christening of our son, Expo ‘67 when we were caught in a cloudburst outside the Czech Pavilion. Our 50th anniversary celebration, and today. Do I love this watch? You gotta know!

Congratulations on 55 years! That’s a long time to have the same wife and the same watch.

I was around 55 years ago, but I was 10 years old. I guarantee you I was wearing a watch, probably a Hamilton or Benrus that my parents ordered out of the Bennett’s Blue Book catalog (anybody remember that?). Being brought up in a military family I used to think of them as “Army man” watches.

And that is why, now all grown up and a big boy, I own a Hamilton Field Mechanical.

Wearing my new Seiko this evening,

My beloved is a one watch girl and she has been wearing this piece for quite a while but now it is mine and she is now the proud owner of this Omega which some may know used to make an occasional appearance on my wrist.
Wonder who got the best deal 🤦

Old pic.and hopefully she will allow a wrist shot soon once she has some new mesh attached to it ?
