Good to know there's a fellow Forum member in the Bay Area...Mrs.Jones and I are strongly considering relocating from L.A. to the North Bay, so I'll be compiling a mental list of other Watch Folk in the region for future GTGs.
Post WWII era Bureau of ships UDT watch. Notice how subtle the Elgin and usn buships markings on the dial. There are now repros of this dial that are not subtle at all.
I pulled out the gnarly GSAR from a dark corner of the watch box and fitted it with a NATO Green Isofrane strap -- a nice combo, I must say. I'll be spending part of the day cleaning out our camper van after living in it for nearly two weeks on the Central Coast of California, so a burly "beater" watch is in order. Here's a photo taken near one of our campsites. The image has been sized and optimized for use as 1920x1080 computer desktop wallpaper, and Forum members are welcome to use it as such, as long as any attempt to use it for making $$$ is shared with me
Absolutely...there’s a strong contingent of watch aficionados in the Bay Area. Check out watch the Bay meetups over on Instagram. Great group. Let me know when you and the Mrs. make the move! https://instagram.com/watchthebaymeetups?igshid=1v6n3otlv942r
