I’ve been wearing two manual wind Durowe-based wrist watches for several weeks. But it is a nuisance remembering to wind them. I was inspired by @allwoundup ’s recent post showing his Gruen self-winder. Why not, thought I? So I dug out my late 1950s Gruen self-winder (also a German-made Durowe movement), with 23 jewels. Years ago, I had offered this one for sale, but everybody who saw it, did me a favour! They didn’t buy it. The case is a 14-karat gold shell over stainless steel, with a 14-karat bezel. I stumbled onto it several months ago, in a box I use for dead storage. So it resurrected it, did what was necessary, added a new bracelet, and here we are.
