Bought this yesterday, automatic Hafis Aquamaster, runs well but missing the crown.

Opened it up for a look and it has an gorgeous untouched pristine 21 jewel SU2472 ( ETA 2472 movement) the black dial is as it left the factory.
Bought at auction for $10.00, money well spent!

So its off to my watchmaker for a service, replacement crown and a lens polish.
Just hoping he might have an original crown as these watches were very popular here in New Zealand in the 60's and 70's and were the go to quality prize to win on Television shows back in the day.

glad I bought this 20 years ago.....

the hand crank radio not the watch!

minimal electrical power so going old school for music entertainment saving iPhone battery.

when鈥檚 summer, again?

oh, yeah, cool watch, too.

Why must you tease and torture us???

Haven't had a chance to take post-worthy pics yet, Mark . . . just retrieved the package from FedEx last night.

Hope to have decent pics in a day or two, depending on when I can get to the coast.

Summer? Four months and counting, by my calendar.

In the meantime, a song of summer . . .

. . . to tide us over.

Here's what I could come up with indoors . . .

. . . using a jury-rigged light box.

Wow, that dial is gorgeous!

Not on my wrist today, though, and probably not for weeks - the initial timing test indicated poor performance.

Today's watch is still . . .

. . . the '72 GS.
