Another grey day here so needed a pop of color. Plus Red, White and Blue seemed right for Presidents’ Day.

This just arrived in the post after an arduous journey from Portugal (made it easily through U.S. customs, then got held up by snowstorms on the East Coast). What a gem...photos don't do it justice. I think I'll be wearing it for a while 😀

So crisp 👍

It was irresistible.

I just wish I had discovered sooner how well 34mm watches fit on my narrow, bony wrist. There are so many POSSIBILITIES out there 😀

Lately, I have slowly been thinning the herd, mostly selling on a few gold and gold tone watches I don't wear anymore, but this little 32mm, light and thin Lord Elgin keeps making the cut. It is very accurate and I think it even looks good on this blue nylon strap. Sometimes, I guess, a certain watch just feels right. It doesn't have to be expensive or sometimes perfect. But this one makes me smile.

The President’s Watch Day!

But which one?

I chose the most unique one; I think it’s the most modern one, and it’s also the loudest IMO.

Some interesting history about the Cricket:

The White House Press Photographer’s Association presented Harry Truman with the first Vulcain Cricket presidential watch. He was also the first of three US Presidents that was known to have actively worn theirs, the others being President Dwight D. Eisenhower and President Lyndon B. Johnson. Johnson was such a big fan of the Cricket that during his presidency he gifted about 200 of them.

Vulcain itself kept up a tradition to present US Presidents with a Cricket; President Obama received one after his inauguration.

Hmm... Which one?

The 66 HF (which I picked) is actually four months older, and half a million serial numbers, earlier than the Ed White. (April and October 1967, if you wondered. 1967 is probably my favorite watch year)

(Usually, I’d pick the Ed - this one’s my favorite, but I’m feeling contrary today.)

Back to the trusty Speedy Pro...I really do with they'd make a half link for this bracelet, though. I'd wear it on the bracelet a lot more 🙁
