That is the classic Datejust Rolex design. Nothing to explain. It will hold its value and slowly appreciate over the next 30 years. FYI, I bought an 18k gold & ss Oyster Date in 1984 for about $1300 that is worth $3000+ today, so don't worry about it. Time is on your side. .
