As today is our 38th anniversary, I’m wearing the watch I wore that day, this 145.022-74 that I had bought in a pawn shop a few months before.
It’s not too much the worse for wear. I did wear it swimming on our honeymoon, without any problems - I was so much braver in my youth.
It’s only been serviced once in my care, about seven years ago. Despite that, this was my daily watch for at least four or five years, and then intermittently in my rotation from time to time.
I am surprised at how well it’s held up. It’s never been babied.
She was breathtakingly beautiful that day. I cried during the ceremony, to my surprise. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
