Wearing my stainless & gold Rolex Date.
I bought this watch new from an AD in Reims, France in 1984.
It's been a great watch all these years.

Rolex watches were a lot less money back in 1984. I think I paid $1300 for it.

I had to pay the VAT tax but I turned in a piece of paper the AD gave me at the airport and they mailed me a check for the VAT refund. (I’m a U.S. citizen that was visiting France).

Those were the good old days. Rolex wasn’t the same kind of fashion status symbol back then. People bought them either for their time keeping precision or as jewelry.

Orange skies in Oregon. Its raining ashes.
Is this a good watch for an apocalypse?
You have the right watch for the job. Been through an apocalypse or two with a 9937OB....haters aside, Pro Divers are bulletproof.

One of those days when you change the watch mid day and realised it is too much work to set the date manually 😒. Cuban Coat of Arms seen here.
