Congrats on the new job, I need as many of you youngsters working as possible to keep my pension going
Montgomery Ward/Legant world timer... A survivor, may be even an unsung hero from the quartz crisis era... Every corner that could be cut, has been... Chrome case, basic 7 jewel movement, no frills dial etc. But - it's automatic, and does its job very well in its sixth decade of existence
Car washing wrist wear with the 5yr old. Garage now soaking wet. it’s an interesting 90s model with case used in military models and original isofrane rubber strap, PVD case and amazing tritium lume. Thin too.
Very special piece today. This TAG-Heuer was the first watch my father gave me, a birthday gift when I was 15. I never knew this about him until after he passed (in 2009), but apparently he was very interested in watches, and used to frequently buy them as gifts for friends and colleagues. That's him in the background, 2nd Armored Division, Combat Command B, taken during their drive across France, Belgium and Germany as "the tip of the spear." This watch was thought lost, then found, and has since followed me from Prague-->Vienna-->Georgia-->Mississippi-->Virginia--> northern Canada-->Nottingham and finally, back home to London, where I was born. Just got a new movement, courtesy of the peerless Brendan Hoey, and it's once again "fit for duty." Thanks, dad, for everything--as promised, I've kept it safe and running strong.
