Hamilton offered many European designs often not found in the U.S. catalogs in the late 60’s & early 70’s. These often had reference numbers 640XX - X. This gorgeous 1968 Hamilton 600 Broad Arrow Diver Ref. 64034-3 is powered by cal. 64A, same mvt. as the 600 Super Compressor cased model 64040-3.
I intended wearing this today and posting it in WRUW ........... ............ but I put this on when I got up this morning and couldn’t be bothered going upstairs later to change over.
Because today is July 2nd, these are the 2 watches I will wear today. Today would have been my maternal Grandfather's 105th birthday were he still with us. In tribute to the man he was, I will wear his utilitarian Timex Marlin the majority of my day. He was a typical, frugal, Maine Yankee gentleman farmer and survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. The Marlin and it's no nonsense, no frills, no airs about it, watch kind of sums him up, minus his warmth. The 16030 was worn during my 2 mile walk this morning to keep it wound and I may wear it again this evening. Today marks the 1 yr anniversary that I bought the watch, although I didn't receive it until the 12th. More on that I am sure in 10 days. LOL. Because I found the Rolex on this day, I sort of feel like my Grandfather, who passed in '93, was looking over my shoulder and helped me find it on that day, even if he would have felt it an extravagance. Enjoy your long weekend, everyone. McK
My vintage watch, ref. 165.020 According to the factory number it was produced in 1964, 1-2 months after my birth. I have sworn her eternal fidelity Still we don´t fit together. I just wished I look remotely as virgin.
I'm wearing my Junkers Iron Annie watch today. I bought it new years ago and it is still running great. Not very expensive, but I really like the Dual Time on it. I actually used my GMT watches when I was a private pilot (flight plans, weather reports, etc. are in Zulu time). I live in the Eastern Time Zone so GMT is +4 hours during daylight savings time.
