I got to the bottom of the matter in the meantime and contacted Paul McCartney this morning. I asked him if he didn't miss his watch. He is so happy to get it back from me and promised to pay finder's wages.

I bought this Seiko with eBay bucks for work, but the blue dial goes so well with my attire it is on my wrist more and more and even days like this when I am on vacation. I hope to soon be big and rich enough to get a similar blue dialed Rolex for home wear.
