When the SKX was discontinued this is what the replacement should have been like- sapphire crystal, lumed ceramic bezel, hand winding, hacking, and a bracelet with solid end links. All for $299usd and free shipping!

I have been thinking I should move this 14K Longines President Coolidge model on to someone who will wear it more than me. Then, after "hauling" my 42mm Speedmaster around on my just under 7 inch wrist all day, I put this on and what a joy. It doesn't feel like I have anything on at all. At the end of the evening, I guess it will go safely back into the watch box to be neglected for another few weeks until I think once again, "I really should sell that Longines."

That box!

We all have one - full of watches that contain memories; of acquisition, of wearing, and of the same sad feeling that you’ve just expressed - that it’s a shame that a watch is no longer sufficiently high in the pecking order to get a regular wear.

I’ve been thinking much the same about this old Oris - and have just passed it on to a nephew who once admired it and will, I think, now give it regular wrist time.

Since the weather has turned today, I'm taking it back indoors. Changed the omega Nato for a black Watchgecko Zuludiver. This one wears relatively thin on the wrist (as opposed to the higher quality Omega Nato). At 20mm a bit wide for this watch, but still fits nicely.
