Went to the brown dial box for a Speedie today and opted for this instead. Heavily patinated (sun burnt) Seawolf that’s had a well used life. Recently serviced and working well. Solid gold bezel! V diff to photograph so indoor and outside shots.
Montgomery Ward brand. I actually took this one down and serviced it. Good little inexpensive watch sporting a cal 29c ut 17 jewel engine. No date quick set. It will be correct once each month. Apologies for the crud on the crown. I just got it in and installed it without examining it for dirt.
Many will have seen my date at 6, caliber 355 Omega bumper before. But this time on a mesh JB Champion bracelet that I lucked into, recently. For some time, I recognized that I had an undiagnosed problem with this watch. I conditioned it about 3 years ago, and replaced the mainspring. I had found it was running down on my left wrist, and not keeping great time. I play violin, and it ran better on the right wrist (the bowing arm), but still not a great timekeeper. I decided to go through it again, yesterday. The d _ _ _ _ d mainspring bridle was slipping badly, and it was most of the time, close to run down! Replaced the mainspring again, and conditioned it, again. This bracelet suits me better in that, I have a large wrist, and this bracelet fits me better. It’s a bit narrow for the watch, but it seems to belong on it, and me.
