When you pick a watch out of the box and the date is already correct, that has to be a good sign for the day, right?

Yeah. If in this case it's a GMT. Last new watch I bought (about 14 months ago) was handed to me with a smile and the date "set". 12 hours out.

My expedition diver is slightly less grand, but still got that military pedigree, and the only watch I wear over my jacket - it was on rubber on Winter Hill in the rain, but rocking a NATO right now - KNURLED IT!
