The simplicity and understated beauty of Speedmasters ruined Daytonas for me. Even wearing it now it feels more like jewelry than a tool watch. I should trade the two EP models for a four digit one of these days.
A rare first after owning 8 homes in 56 years. Just when you think you’ve fixed everything, it’s a garage door torsion spring snapped. Not altogether pleasant.
It just occurred to me as I’ve considered getting a 4 digit Daytona of late, that this Speedmaster is at least as attractive, has a better movement, and I already own it. Ah that Rolex mystique and the power it has over many of us.
