In the U.S. we honor our military dead today. I truly appreciate those who answered the call to serve their country. The horrors so many of them had to experience and sacrifices they made are unimaginable to me.

My naive wish for today is that we no longer have to add to the list of those we honor on Memorial Day.

A short while ago the daughters had use of our motorhome and this afternoon they produced this thank you gift 🥰

Memorial Day is required to honor those who gave all and needed to encourage us to strive to avoid the wretched loss of war.

My dad was named for my Uncle John Goodloe, my grandmother's younger brother, a young dispatch rider who along with his motorcycle was found in a shell hole near the end of the Meuse–Argonne campaign just before Armistice. Our family never learned details. He's still in France.
