Speedy Tuesday! 馃憤

Updated my avatar at a U.S. Naval Aviation forum that I frequent...where I celebrate Speedy Tuesday [and Speedy Wednesday, and Speedy Thursday, and Speedy Friday, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera]...good times! 馃憤

Beloved 6309-7049 from 1986 for today...

...and doing some more hobby forum avatar switcherooing because I have the technology...

...AND I really am undefeated at 1976 Mattel Electronics Auto Race [see directly above]. Yesterday, I duked it out with a pilot buddy from American Airlines...it was a complete slaughter fest as I pummeled him with my mad skills. But I will say that I had an unfair advantage...I鈥檝e been playing the game since 1976 [or 1977] and yesterday was his second time playing it. Too freaking bad...I won. 馃榿

Solidarity at Home: Day 049

There seem to be a lot of 33mm-34mm Seamasters on the Forum today, so I thought I'd join the party 馃榾

Ref.14722-1 SC Calibre 520, circa 1959

Watching TV, the great moose walk. Fantastic event as many moose change from winter area to summer area. They must swim across a several hundred meter wide river. This trip is made every year

I received this one as a reclamation project "gift" from my Father about five years ago. It spent the better part of a decade not running on the upper shelf of a bookcase in the New Mexican sunshine...which is how the dial achieved such a unique aesthetic...

He gifted me the watch in 2015, and it was shortly after that I caught the "watch bug" and had the watch serviced and the case a bit touched up - which I normally would never do - but as this watch will never be sold, and I love the look of the dial, I wanted the case to look sharp.

I distinctly remember when he got this watch in the late 1980's, it was partial payment from a jeweler-friend he'd done some work for. As my Dad had been a lifelong Seiko wearer, it was a major upgrade for him. I also have its steel and gold rivet-style bracelet, but it needs a jewelers attention, and I've only ever worn it on a strap, so relatively low priority to "fix".

Here's one more pic, just to make this audience appropriate!

Fantastic story to go along with a fantastic watch - doesn鈥檛 get better than that! Wear and enjoy, my friend!

Thought I'd accentuate my tiny wrists by wearing a swatch today. They are not small, kind of fun though.

Bought the day before lockdown for 拢65, so I miss the cut on watches under 拢50 bought during the lockdown. Still, not too unhappy about this one.

For me that watch is worth every penny.... a great vintage on a budget for sure..

Using my superhero skills to project a call sign that only fellow superheroes can read . That's how much lockdown has affected my mind & Mrs CPR reminded me that I was 53 & not 5 again . Party pooper I say .
