I have a weakness for dress watches and will wear them most anytime or anywhere, save scuba diving or doing yard work. I bought the Piquette through an online auction. I had never heard of the brand, nor could I identify the movement from the photos, which were lousy. There was virtually no descriptive text about the watch in the auction listing...no info about the case material. The original case back had been replaced with a crystal. What actually made me decide to bid on the watch was curiosity about two apparent punch marks, one on the back of the watch and the other on a lug, which were impossible to make out from the auction photos. Could they possibly be the head of Helvetia (18K)? The marks turned out not to be Helvetia, but a squirrel (14K). Very happy with the watch all the same.
Ebony and ivory... living in perfect harmony. Why can’t watch owners? I think Sir Paul McCartney said that.
Been wearing this a ton since the shutdown started. With my work going remote and having to share childcare/education duties at home with my wife, it's been a very helpful 'mission timer'. My next mission: run the toddler around the park until he gets sleepy.
