beater with a Hamilton movement. Its my, I will steadfastly refuse to support the Richemont group under any circumstances watch. Which means that even tho I love sone Iwc watches, Baume et Mercier, Cartier Ballon, the Italian job, plus a few others out of my price range, I cannot bring myself to buyany of their products.

For me its more about Richemont cutting the private watchmaker out of the service and repair equation and taking advantage of eliminating aftermarket competition by way of maximising profits

But that's how ALL the Swiss brands do it. AP is still independent of the conglomerates and they won't sell parts either. That's the whole industry's game.

Hmm... which brands don't?

Wonder if we could come up with a list?

Omega I have had no problems with, would be great to have a sticky listing the swiss, and German and other brands who actually care about their customers after sales experience in as much as you can go to your local watchmaker and ger service or repair at a reasonable (and profitable for watchmaker and watch co) price.
