You all inspired me to go to my bedside drawer where I had abandoned my last regular watch to go for a bit of a change, got it out to strap on and noticed the crystal had crazed virtual all around the circumference
Two cream dialed hand winders - my 2990-1 Ranchero Seamaster and my brother's new SBGW231. About 60 years between them but both lovely in their own way.
A most un-Rolex of any I've seen. In fact many think it is a fake. Ref Number 9083, from 1959. I originally purchased it to go against the grain and get something unattractive. It didn't fit in with my sense of aesthetics. Hodinkee describes it as a watch that doesn't age well. I now love the watch and its ugly duckling look and feel. I think it has aged very well.
