From yesterday's pool tournament: Chet had two balls left on the table. That was my first attempt on the 8.
Not the italian albino, no. But I understood the reference I modded a -71 to emulate the Apollo 20th anniversary speedy. Rhodium dial!
Ahh, thanks for the correction! Once had the 25th white gold (with bracelet, yet!) on my wrist at a So Cal watch shop about a dozen years ago. Asking price then was $9K.
Holy sh*t! When I was modding I was torn between emulating that one and the rhodium. That's a stunner- one of the few shiny-dialed speedys that play well with the light IMO. Now those are only seen on auctions.. I wish you still had it! Another shot of the rhodium dial, it plays really well with the light.
Oh, I never owned it - if memory serves correct, I'd just acquired a rose gold GO Karree perpetual, and my account was drained when I had #010 on my wrist for just a few moments. If only I'd gone for the Speedy instead . . .
Oh no.. Well, what can we do. I wish I got into vintage speedys earlier as well. Nobody knows the future so all we can do is to try buy the ones we like and have a good time.
Filming with the beater on again. This is happening frequently enough that I really ought to get another beater or two... On the plus side, the clicks on the bezel are LOUD, so if I turn the bezel and say, 'hey, we've got 5 more minutes for this shot, and then we need to move on,' it sounds like I'm really serious.
so my first Omega is in the mail today, should be arriving shortly! however, last week I was able to pick up the original Seiko SARB065 "Cocktail Time" for a pretty incredible price. the dial on these are stunning in person...
