People asked me all the time why I like vintage watches... I need to point them in this direction what a killer piece thanks for sharing..
And for this evenings pleasure the Citizen 62-6198 from 74 .If this was by a more in favour watch brand this would be a grail watch to many but luckily it isn't & there isn't much interest in vintage citizen dive watches, so they are still obtainable and unbelievable VFM .
Celebrated Uncle Steve's 90th birthday yesterday at a favored Lebanese restaurant. On my wrist - the Centenary. It seemed the most appropriate. On my wrist today as well . . .
Had so much fun with Speedy Tuesday that it's carried over to Speedy Wednesday here. Spent a pleasant morning on the bench rest at the local club range with a vintage Remington Model 33 bolt-action single-shot .22 rifle with a roll marked date code indicating that it was produced in January of 1935 near the end of a relatively short 1932-1935 production run. It's not often seen these days. Still shoots a treat, even with its original sights!
Rewarding myself after 8 hours of staining my new garden gate and fence. Wearing an old friend, my second auto watch bought years ago.
Love that one Syrte! Full numeral markers, two-toned track, and willow leaf (? Is that what they are called) hands. Elegant lugs too.
Thank you so much B, I only know about « leaf hands » but willow is so much more poetic As the song goes, « I get by with a little help from my friends » - this one indeed was dug up by a pal on a flea market in the South of France. Bless his heart he preferred to let me have it for a fair «mate’s price » than to auction it off.
