In the mood for a change today. Hadn’t worn this one in a while, and it’s turn has come up. Post WWII German made,
and both movement and dial are simply marked FOREIGN. I have seen such marks on German clocks of the era, but don’t recall seeing this mark on watches. The movement is by the German firm Durowe, a maker acquired by Timex in the late 1950s. Durowe was producing battery powered movements in this era, and early Timex Electrics used Durowe battery movements in them. The Laco name originated from the German firm Lacher & Co. which started out marketing watches with Swiss movements before changing to German made movements. Laco was a major supplier of timepieces for the German military in WWII. I have shown a Durowe (Laco) battery movement marked Timex. I have also shown the Durowe caliber 422 which is in the subject watch.

I hope Dunkin' is aware that the free advertising you have given them over the years probably exceeds their payed accounts...and that in my opinion, you should be compensated accordingly...

I don’t believe they are aware...BUT they have provided $2,000 to our masters [cycling] road racing team over the past several years.

Bonus pic below at Boston Logan from several years ago...AND I’m most definitely wearing my beloved and faithful Seiko 6309-7049 auto...

. . . both came into this world about the same time. It'll be on my wrist at the rescheduled Stones show in LA.
