Sorry, thought VA was an abbreviation for Virginia. 😀
No worries...don’t let it happen again. 😉

Just arrived. Another love-at-first-sight acquisition. 😒

I’ve always loved the IWC pilot watches and have wanted one of the vintage ones with the squared lume plots in the hands. And, of course, I have a known preference for dials without a lot of text. No date is preferred too.

I know some think Hodinkee priced this piece too high. Its beauty won me over.

I love the feel of the “Ceratanium® ... a unique titanium alloy containing zirconium oxide; when heated, the zirconium oxide hardens into ceramic distributed throughout the metal itself. ... [T]he end result is a watch light like titanium, but with the scratch resistance and durability of ceramic.

It feels soft, warm and faintly ‘fuzzy’ to the touch, not metallic at all. Almost like the graphite in pencils.

And, like all watches we think are great, it looks better in person than in the photo.

Just collected a strap I had made for this watch...it’s like having a new one in the collection.

I bought this awhile ago and have never used it. It is one stout little beast.

This one's very nice.
