TRUE all original 6139-6005 Pogue just back from Adrian at Vintage Time Australia

1. Water 70m Resist on dial
2. Only the word AUTOMATIC printed below the applied Seiko brand name
3. 17 Jewels
4. SUWA Symbol
5. Feb 1971 to March/April 1972 (Col. Pogue's September 1971)

I was at the doctor's office yesterday. Noticed a Pogue on the wrist of the nurse assigned to my care. Turns out it was his Grandfather's.
'79, unpolished, on its original bracelet. He had no idea how desirable it was.

Hitched up to new strap this afternoon, only right that it has an evening outing.
As cheap as chips but certainly an eclectic taste 😁

Haven’t had this Pierce on for a while. Took a few minutes to set all complications but it will be on for a few days now 😀.

Busy 24 hrs here. Last night: Luxor Temple.

The matching obelisk that used to stand the right of this one was given to Napoleon and now stands in the Place de la Concorde in Paris.

Luxor columns.

Early morning hot air balloon ride over the Luxor west bank. Other side of this mountain is the Valley of the Kings.

Turning around, the Nile at Luxor.

Balloon down, on to the Valley of the Kings with some 60 royal tombs. We went down into 3 of them.

Entrance to the tomb of King Tut (not one of the 3 we chose to enter)

Finally, Karnak Temple. Here the Avenue of the Ram Headed Sphinxes (it was too dark for me to photograph the Avenue of the regular Sphinxes at Luxor the night before.)

Karnak's 130+ giant columns.

For scale, that's Mrs Lou P among the columns.

Remember the scene in The Spy Who Loved Me where Bond and Barbara Bach play hide and seek with Jaws? It was here. YaY!

Back in the 70's my father used to look after a holiday home in London owned by a Chinese Doctor called Raymond from Hong Kong. I recall helping my dad each year with the cleaning and general maintenance prior to his arrival. Raymond was always very generous and typically overpaid whatever sum my dad asked for his services. The cash was always produced and handed over by his wife in crisp £50 notes plus a small gift for me. One year he excelled himself and produced this Omega Geneve as a token of his appreciation. My father wore it almost constantly until he died some 10 years ago.
