As advertised. In my earlier post from today, I mentioned I was finishing another Accutron. Here it is. Complete circuit change, cell, armoured crystal, cleaning. I recently inherited a cabinet of Accutron parts and project watches. A consolidation of parts and project Accutrons from two deceased watchmakers. This was one of the project watches. It suited someone’s taste, but I have never been enthralled with brown dials on steel case. But the case shape is rather distinctive, so I thought I’d resuscitate it. The black strap? I will also try a brown one to see which combination I prefer. This one is from 1972.
Very much becoming one of my favorite watches. While it certainly on leather, I seem to enjoy it more on a bracelet. I tried it on a 1171, but it did not look right to me. It seems to be best for me on the 1450, but had to take it off my 20th. So worth it!! I
Caliber 88. Just back from my watchmaker, who says it is all original and I am "not allowed to sell it". (I won't.) Oh, and 37mm.
