Really elegant dial, hands and numerals/indices the lighting of that image is so fine... What movement is in this Kelbert?
Picture taken several days ago, but still on the wrist today. My 65-70 (or so) year old, German made Laco with a Durowe (German) caliber 422, manual wind, 17 jewel movement, chrome case. The Laco dial name comes from the German firm Lacher and Co., and the movement was produced by an associated German company, Durowe. It came to me with (shall we say) issues which required parts, and considerable manipulation, and a recondition. Why did I bother? I like the dial, a lot. And for a chrome case of this vintage, the condition is outstanding. It has taken some adjusting to bring it close to being the time keeper I want it to be, but it is finally running within about 90 seconds per week. Durowe and Laco were bought out by Timex in the mid ‘50s, and again by SMH (Swiss) in the ‘60s. It is easy to appreciate a watch with a bit of a story. Humble though it may be. Dial and movement marked Foreign, which I have seen before, on post WWII German watches and clocks.
Is the lug size 22mm in this watch? Mine just came in today and wondering if I have to go on a 22 mm nato ordering hole . Thanks in advance,
