It's Thanksgiving in the US today. I have many, many reasons to give thanks; I have good friends, a family that pretty much gets along and a solid marriage to beautiful woman that produced a fine son. I have work that not only supports me in a comfortable fashion but I find it meaningful and engaging.

I don't engage much socially on the ether but I have this forum and one other, a cycling forum. I give thanks for both as they open windows to other people that otherwise I would have not had the wonderful opportunity to interact with. Thanks to all the folks here that have given me advice, knowledge and humor - you are princes and princesses (not enough princesses but what we have is Quality). Thanks to the forum owners for giving our community a little real estate in the ether, it's priceless.

I also give thanks that I have this beauty and several others, what a fascinating pastime these timepieces be.

Completed the traditional Wild Turkey 5 Mile Run on this frigid morning. What the hell was I thinking???

Then, it was time to upgrade to the IWC Pilot Chrono. Dial looks blue in the sunlight, which is not helping the frigid temps:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well said.

Whether in the U.S. and celebrating Thanksgiving or not, regularly taking the time to count one's blessings is a good habit to cultivate. It makes for a happier, healthier and spiritually richer life.

Wishing you all health, happiness, good spirit and friendship. Cheers!

The three mainstays of my current lineup.

Ed, CB and Lemania-Omega Speedymoon.

Ed is on my wrist at the moment. I slept with CB last night. Ironically, the Lemania-Omega Speedymoon is probably my favorite watch overall: it keeps much better time than any Speedmaster and has been repaired to be water resistant, unlike any of the vintage Speedmasters I wear. And because it was relatively cheap on eBay, I don’t worry about it when I wear it, the way I sometimes do with the fancy stuff. And, of course, it is beautiful and unusual.

Adjusted to five positions. (Photo from before service.)
