need my alarm today too.... new strap though....my first B&S: mouse. Not sure if that is what it's made of or just the colour.....will ask for a professional opinion
Enough of this weather! I had to finally go outside to snap a pic, but the wetness hasn’t yet stopped, and now, here comes the cold! Goosebumps for me and my 7016 today:
It’s quite well made, a good size, the brush silver finish is really nice.... and it costs about the same as the strap for the Omega Silver Snoppy! These are still (or were this morning) available on the U.K./EU site, if anyone from the rest of the world wants one that isn’t available locally, let me know and I’ll help you get one.
#SpeedyThursday Got a new NATO strap, thanks to the assurances of several members who said Haveston straps solve the issues I've had with NATOs. Thank you, one and all!! This strap is the BOMB-DIGGITY. I have long loved the concept of the NATO strap, the material, the look, and the protection it offers. What I couldn't get used to was the clasp sitting on the side of my wrist and the extra bunched strapage that gathers at the top near the lugs. Haveston doesn't currently make 21mm straps, which is the exact size the co-axial Speedmasters take. It's an odd size and availability of such straps is not good. 20mm wide straps are plentiful, and they can be used, but there is always a gap between the lugs and the edges of the strap. Small, and some would say its insignificant, but that kind of fault drives me up a tree! There is the slightest bit of bunching between the lower lugs as a 22mm strap fills in a 21mm space, but I can melt a millimeter off in the appropriate place. Thanks for the recommends gents!
For people who don't mind watches that REALLY show their age, an early (1961) FREY-branded two-crown EPSA supercompressor in the larger (42mm) case. I still remember the evening I saw this on eBay. Two things were immediately clear: (1) it was butt-ugly, and (2) I loved it. (Please ignore the dog hair on my sleeve.)
