After a loooong wait this one arrived today. The more active in here may be able to recognize it as it has previously been in the ownership of a great forum member! It will do service in Norway now!

Ok, so not one for the purest's amongst you, but it'll do for me.....👍

This was given to my father on his 18th birthday in 1930 (case and movement date watch at 1928).

It must have been reasonably cheap as they were a poor family but they bought it for him instead of paying the rent money for that week! (my dad said they had to lay on the floor when the rent man came knocking....!)

He wore it through WW2, the original strap is lost, the dial is unnamed, the 9k case has worn through at some stage with age and has been sealed inside with lead, the case has some dinks and the dial has shifted position, if indeed it is the original dial........maybe though in this instance, all these faults aren't quite so important after all........?

Fantastic story to have with a great heirloom! A watch one should wear with pride and joy.
Any idea what movement lurks underneath?

Well my watchmaker who gave it a look over for me said that it contained a reasonably decent quality generic swiss 440 caliber movement......he replaced the worn centre wheel and it now seems to run like a swiss watch👍

Terrific watch, & a terrific back story. - I like the 'Classic Period Design' enormously.

I am certain your Father would be immensely proud of you, for your assiduous guardianship of it.

Thank you for showing it.
