Waffle bumper. This dial config is one of the most common redial styles, so nice to have an original dial.

Yeah...….my newbie tax cost me a few hundred early in this sport, but it did come with a nice JB Champion bracelet.

Super interesting Not the worse by far. What do you think the dial looked like originally? That dial doesn't look like it came with a sub-seconds.

Sad update. 🙁

Within a half an hour of yesterday’s watch change, the UK Ed suffered a hand conflict and stopped. 🤔

Sigh. Getting these 50 year old Speedmasters squared away really requires living with them for a while. This watch, up until this, had been running fine for over a month. It had sat for a week just prior to yesterday morning. Ah well, just a minor touch up visit to the spa.

So, I’m back to this one, the Istanbul Ed, which is currently keeping remarkably good time.

Another reason to have two of these things. 😗

And patience. The older the watch and the greater the complications, the more patience required.

It most likely did, inside the case back it has no SC imprint.

I got lucky with a retired WM who had a cal 342 parts watch with this dial, so I bought and swapped dial and hands at service time.
