1938 Bulova "Doug Corrigan": swivel lugs, 17 jewels, 25mm width w/o crown, 46mm lug-to-lug, 20mm strap. The watch is the namesake of an American/Texan aviator of the 1930s who wanted to attempt a solo flight from New York to Dublin. The Bureau of Air Commerce denied his request for three years. On the morning of July 17, 1938 Corrigan logged a flight plan from Brooklyn, NY to Los Angeles, California, and took off into low hanging cloud cover. Twenty-Eight hours and thirteen minutes later he landed in Dublin....and the legend of Wrong Way Corrigan was born.
Switched out to my 40mm Stowa Fleiger Automatic for the evening. Have not worn this watch much and am considering flipping it. Love the quality, the lume is incredible, the watch looks great, but I have a hard time reading the hands - not sure why.
