Going to get some groceries, she is not thrilled...

If you had the Speedy on she would have been smiling.

It's been a rough few months due to the unexpected departure (permanent departure) of a colleague. Things are very slowly coming together on a project he was leading. Nevertheless, there is still a lot to do, which is why I am working on a Saturday. Here is a shot from the office looking out at one of our projects (modular construction of 7 furnaces for a chemical plant). They will be barged from Maine to the gulf, up the Mississippi and Ohio to a location in PA. Pictures are not allowed, so this will have to do.

This has to be the perfect watch for my laid back attire on this cloudy, sometimes rainy Saturday.

Sooo tempting to switch mid day when one has access to the stash!

Another OF find (thank you @Nathan1967 !)

A pristine 145.022-68 transition. Even though the bezel is nicely faded, I think the watch should get a better one, given how nice the rest of the watch is.

What do you guys think?

Just arrived for a week down the shore. I thought the blue perlon might be too much, but it's not.

@sjg22 :

Ha, thanks! Somehow it slipped through your Ed White net. I got it on eBay right after your double score - there was no photo of the original papers in the listing, I got them when I asked.

Re the bezel, I agree, but as I plan on wearing sometimes, having a $$$$ bezel on it does cause some apprehension....

I was watching it. The listing frustrated me, with unnecessarily weird photos and no shot of what “the papers” said. I also thought the lugs looked like they’d been reshaped, but couldn’t be sure.

(From the eBay listing:

Here’s a shot of a lug on the best of my Eds:

(I could easily be wrong about this.)

With my tummy full from the two -65’s, I let it go rather than try to contact the seller, although I thought there was a good chance it was a -63, based on what was in the listing.

Great deal for the hammer price, particularly a -63.

Congrats and wear it in good health. Dibs stand! 🥰

My going out to dinner watch: A lovely old cal 354 bumper Seamaster on a fabulous old deployant band. I missed "winning" one of these a few weeks ago as I underbid by around $80. They're getting expensive and it pisses me off...
