One boring Sub on the wrist while visiting the Main Tower in Frankfurt, near perfect visibility in every direction!
Yeah it was a neat inexpensive fleabay find with its box and papers too! I collect some Benrus so its on my radar.
I bought three each of both types of the Navy tshirts. On sale at Sears. Been wearing these almost every day for last two weeks. Since all the Speedmasters look almost the same figured I would collect tshirts that look almost the same. I can no longer afford Speedmasters so I'm going to start collecting Navy tshirts.
This Zenith was gaining about 30 minutes in 24 hours. Some might say “magnetized”, but that is rarely the cause of the problem on a watch so new. I didn’t even check it for magnetism. The timing machine showed no pattern whatsoever. Open it, and take a look. Second coil of the hairspring hung up on the regulator gate. Quick fix? Not really. It still showed no pattern on the timing machine. Check again, and hairspring still obviously a problem. Pull the balance cock and balance wheel, and remove the balance wheel. Oil on the hairspring? Nope, Clean. This watch had been serviced in 2017 (not by yours truly), and the hairspring stud was touching the second coil of the hairspring. So there would likely be times when the second coil was not touching the stud, and at other times, it would be bouncing off of it. A slight adjustment of the outer coil to solve the problem, and put it back together. Back on the timer, and after minor regulation, watch showed a steady rate of + 3 seconds per day. Magnetism? Sometimes, but rarely, I find.
I used to work there for a short while more than 17 years ago (27th floor). And on the 3rd pic you see the building my current employer will move to soon. And of course, this is the city where I was born.
Covent Garden, London, Rules is advertised as the oldest restaurant in London. ‘Cafe Rouge’ and the UG for drinks and dinner:
A great spot when visiting, always fun to try new game. Did you have "the rules" cocktail by any chance? Two of. Those were about all I could handle last luncheon.
