Time for a cleansing breath. Let’s see how long this lasts on my wrist before I feel compelled to go back to a Speedy
Not long is my guess. I totally get it. I have a few non speedmasters, and they get little to no wrist time.
Really? Funny, you posted just around the time I took the Zodiac off and briefly slipped on an Ed White. So, you must have seen me do it. But, I did force myself to put the Zodiac back on after a minute or two, and was already wearing it again when I saw your post. The Zodiac, being a certified chronometer, does keep much better time than any of my Speedmasters, around a second or two in 24 hours.
I’m embarrassed, but must confess I’ve taken the Zodiac off again. I can’t seem to help myself. @Taddyangle called it. The best watch faces can be mesmerizing. I like the Zodiac but I stare at this. I do know that this will pass. It always has. Except to like minded souls, this type of affliction (a fixation really), seems simply bizarre. Here, this sickness is cool. PS - The Zodiac lasted just short of 3 hours and fifteen minutes. I promise I’ll try again, to wean myself off Speedmasters, soon. PPS - I don’t understand how a watchlover could own one of these 105.003s and not wear it regularly.
Now I’m over sharing, as my kids like to say, but the last post has caused me to reflect. In the last six months, I have worn nothing but Speedmasters for full days. It may be longer than that. I have tried previously to wean myself off them, without success. Other than the Zodiac, here is the collection of watches, previous loves everyone of them, that I’ve tried to break the string with: None of them lasted more than a few hours. I’ll get bored eventually, I hope.
